olive oil
16 ounce bag of lentils
2 cans of vegetable broth
1 T minced garlic
1 medium onion, diced
1 cup sliced carrots
2 T ketchup
2 bay leaves
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp salt
What to do:
Ask an adult to help dice an onion and slice the carrots.
Cook in olive oil in a saucepan until soft.
Add all remaining ingredients, EXCEPT water.
Bring to a low boil while stirring. Add water one cup at a time,
as lentils expand and absorb liquid. Turn heat to low.
Simmer for about an hour. The first person to find a bayleaf in their bowl wins!
